I am one of two librarians in a Clinical Medical Librarian program. We have already tried incorporating RSS feeds into our course materials. We generally post information, articles and links to a BlackBoard site that services our Pediatric Residency program.
In general I like the RSS idea, especially for doctors and medical students who typically don't have a lot of time to search the web. Conversely, because they don't have a lot of time, we have found very few of them will spend the time to learn the new technology and how they can use it. That's one of the things we will be working on with the new residency class in July, how to use technology as a time-saving measure.
As a former public librarian, I think it would great technology for patrons there as well. We had a number of regulars who came in daily, to look at the same set of websites. I do that as well-I have to have my morning news fix, and read my blogs.
